Day 3 Bulletin

Hi Everyone

The children are really getting the hang of this skiing business now, and today some are attempting slopes which to my untrained eye look positively scary. But then I even have to close my eyes on the chairlift! The children have no such fears - and are happily using the rope, button and T-bar lifts to access the tops of the various slopes. Everyone is fit and well, and we were really pleased that no-one showed any ill-effects after their first day's skiing. So well done, parents, for encouraging your children to do their exercises!

Last night, the instructors - or counsellors as they are called here - held a mini-Olympics for the children, one of the many events planned for the week. Tonight we are going sledding, which I am really looking forward to as I haven't been skiing. The counsellors have struck up an excellent rapport with the children and we are all a very happy family.

Just a quick note about the blog. I am forwarding all your messages to the children, together with the e-mails you have sent via the Viamonde site. Please understand that it is very difficult for us to reply to them as the children have a packed daily itinerary, and we only have one, rather slow PC here and nearly fifty children. Uploading photos and passing on messages took me nearly four hours yesterday, so individual replies will be hard to manage. I would also be grateful - sorry! - if you could only use the school phone for emergencies; we received 25 texts yesterday! We will contact you IMMEDIATELY if there is any sort of problem. You can rest assured that if you don't hear from us, your children are fit and healthy and happy!

OK, I'll start uploading some pictures for you now...

Hope all's well in Bahrain!

Mr M
