Hi Everyone
I looked out of the window this morning to see... nothing! Low cloud enveloped the chalet and we were all a bit worried as to how this might affect the day's skiing. But on the way up the mountain, the chairlift broke through the cloud to reveal the most stunning sunlit scenes so far. It was enough to make even this rather tired teacher go, 'Oooooooooooooooooooooh!'
Some lovely photos today, I hope you will agree. Didn't feel even I could go wrong with the backdrops all around us! Of course, I am limited by the subjects of my photos, and while most of the staff co-operated beautifully, I'm afraid Mrs Ellerby proved to be a rather difficult model...
Mr M: Hey, Lynne. I've got one shot left. Want to get a pic for the album?
Mrs E: Thanks, darl'. That'd be grand!
They traipse over to a suitable backdrop...
Mrs E: What do you think? Skis off or on?
Mr M: Whatever you like.
Mrs E: I think I'll take them off.
Mr M: OK.
Five minutes while Mrs E fiddles with skis. Finally manages to extricate herself. Poses dramatically...
Mr M: That looks great. Hold it there.
Mrs E: What about the poles?
Mr M: Up to you, really. Maybe give them to me.
Mrs E: There you go. Now how do I look?
Mr M: Just fine. Ready?
Mrs E: I think so.
Mr M: That's great.
Mrs E: Hold on. My hurr!
Mr M: Hurr...? Oh, hair. It looks lovely.
Mrs E: No, let me just sort it out. Been strugglin' with my straighteners, so I have.
Mr M: (mutters)
Mrs E: What was that, pet?
Mr M: Nothing. Come on then.
Mrs E: Nearly done. OK, let's go.
Mr M: Right. 3-2-1... Great. We're done.
Mrs E: Let me see, let me see.
Snatches camera...
Mrs E: Oh, by all the saints! I look like a troll! I'm squinting, so I am.
Mr M: Really, Lynne, you look fine.
Mrs E: No, take another one, pet. I'll put on my sunglasses.
They traipse back to cabin for sunglasses. They traipse back...
Mr M: OK. Here we go. You ready?
Mrs E composes herself...
Mrs E: Oi am!
Mr M takes photo...
Mr M: Perfect!
Mrs E: I think I was blinking.
Mr M: YOU'RE WEARING SUNGLASSES!!!!!!
Mrs E: So I am!
I hope Mr Ellerby thinks the finished product is worth the effort! No such problems with the children. As well as being more photogenic, they're all using poles now, the last piece of the skiing 'jigsaw'. Lots of photos to upload today, so I'll make a start. There are also some video clips from last night's ding-a-ling awards. They're rather dark, I'm afraid, and I'm not sure how the sound will come out on your computers, but they give you a flavour of the fun we have at these sessions. Oh, there's also a clip of the wonderful Victor and his Funky Chickens doing part of their warm up. This is always the highlight of my day, and usually brings the mountain to a complete standstill.
We're having a Murder Mystery evening tonight, which should be good fun. It will be Mr Mannings, with the ski boot, in the laundry room. No prizes for guessing the victim!
Home soon!
Mr M
